Basketball Regular Season Coming to a Close

The BPHS boys’ basketball team has lost a few close games this year, and their recent trip to Chaparral on Friday, Feb. 19 was no different. The boys stayed close to the Roadrunners the entire game, but could not pull away with the win, losing 50-61.

The previous game on Feb. 16 was Senior Night, and three boys basketball players were honored. Adin Siemers, Coy Throop, and Ian Wilkerson all played in their last regular season home game at Belle Plaine.

The Dragons also came away with a win that night, pummeling over Bluestem, 74-47. Ben Gooch, jr., led the scoring with 22 points, and Adin Siemers, sr., was close behind with 16 points.

The boys lost another close game on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at Wichita Independent. They will play their first game of Sub-State at Douglass on Monday, March 1.
