AVATAR MOVIE RECORD BREAKING HIT

The effects in the movie almost look too good to be true at some points.
All my life I have always been a big movie buff. I'm a guy who can sit at home and do nothing but watch movie after movie without a worry in the world. But in recent years, movies have gone from a form of just flat out entertainment, to trying to win the hearts of people all over the world. Movies have gone from something we enjoy to watch, to extreme movie lengths of violence, sadness, and drama. So now days, instead of picking a random movie and hoping it's O.K. or fair, you have to read the fine print in them in order to tell if they are family oriented or not. In some ways it gets annoying. But most movies have hidden messages of a great moral of a story to follow throughout. In all my life I have seen only three great movies. Titanic, The Dark Night, and my beloved Twister. I always had a theory that movies weren't getting any better, and that eventually there wouldn't be any meaningful movies left.
But I recently went and saw a movie that is sparking a lot of debate all over the internet. this movie has been known to cause depression after seeing it and is the 2nd top grossing movie of all time. This movie is Avatar. Avatar takes place in 2156.It's the story of Jake Sully, a paralyzed marine who is sent to the distant moon Pandora. His reason: he is to operate an avatar made especially for him. In fact, when you first see the avatar, it's floating in a blue liquid, or being stored during the 5 year flight to the distant moon. and in order to transfer to the avatar, they enter inside this capsule that takes your mind to the avatar, kind of like a futuristic video game. Now once Jake meets his boss Grace Augustine, they immediately begin working. Now, the point of this whole operation is to try and become one of the Na' vi, the native villagers (aliens) who stand over 8 feet tall and inhabit the planet, and convince them to move so the humans can dig up this rare mineral that thier home happens to be sitting on. Jake immediately finds out that this planet is dangerous, due to the large animals that inhabit it. Near death experiences are around every corner.
I saw several messages in the movie Avatar. The planet of Pandora in the movie is beautiful. It's full of so much beauty, and glowing plants, that it kind of makes earth like chopped liver. And it makes almost everyone that sees such a wonderful place loath to be on Earth. And the main part about it is the sheer out peace that even an audience can feel at the beginning of the movie. Now, I will forewarn you that there are sequences in the movie that may cause some of the more prone to cry. Although the movie does give off a serenity feeling of peace, it also makes you feel bad for how were destroying our earth. Pandora is a simple planet with a bunch of basically alien Indians who love their way of life and are happy, until the humans start invading. The movie gives you an anti-war message.
Also notable are the special affects that director and producer James Cameron used. Once again, James Cameron has outdone himself by pushing technology to the beaking point and has risked his career on the line in order to put forth another box office blow out. The movie as I saw in 3D had the aliens and humans standing side by side, and it was nearly impossible to tell the difference between the two of which is real and which isn't. If anything, the humans looked more like the fake ones compared to the realistic looking Na'vi. And although the majority of the movie is set in 3D, the effects never even once make you think you're in another computer game, but in fact that you are in another world.

One of the many shots in Avatar
It's amazing to see what hapens in the movie and how the effects compared to even two or three years ago have improved so much. If anyone has not seen Avatar, I would highly suggest going to see it. As I have experienced before,if you wait for it to bring home with you, it isn't the same as it would be at the movie theater. Even if you're not into the Sci-Fi sort of films, I would still recommend going to see Avatar. This movie will definitely go down in history, and has already redefined Sci-Fi movies as we know them today.
